MURRAY, Utah – Memorial Day marks the beginning of the summer outdoor season.
According to a recent study, 71 percent of Life Flight rescues in Utah happen between May and September.
Search and Rescue and Life Flight crews want to remind people that as they head outdoors and into the mountains, to keep safety in mind.
They say when tourists and residents head out to hike in canyons, and play in rivers and lakes throughout the state, the number of calls for search and rescue operations skyrocket. But they say many of those situations can be prevented. – Fox13
